KMC is not a hatchery
Some of our chicks are hatched in incubators, others by good old fashioned broody hens!

Due to their very fluffy plumage and small size, it is very difficult to sex bantams (especially tiny Silkies) until they are AT LEAST 5 to 6 months old. Sometimes earlier or later depending how quickly they mature. Every breed, and every hatch is unique.. A STRAIGHT RUN chick is un-sexed.

*that  means  you   have   about a    50/50   chance   your adorable   lil'  chick  will  grow  up   to   be  a   rooster

All of our chicks are vaccinated for Mareks disease when they are around 1 day old.
They are kept warm & toasty in a brooder until they are ready meet the outside world!

Kiss My Chicks is not a hatchery operation or a high volume breeding program- it is a passion & hobby. Lots of love go to our babies and they are handled daily. An enormous amount of thought & consideration is focused on the well-being of each hatch, and the livelihood of each chicken under our care. Due to the amount of time spent on each bird, there are times when availability is limited. Other times, we are swimming in chickens!
Birds are bred to standards of perfection, from some of the most highly respected breeders throughout the United States. *But whether they are for poultry shows, breeding, or just pets-- they are LOVED*
