I thought I lost Cartman today.
While working in the garden, I let some chickens come out in the sunshine with me. I noticed that Cartman wasnt as content as the other chickens just dust bathing. I had plenty of delicious veggies in a pile for them & I know there were lots of bugs to be found, but was she interested in my garden buffet? Nope.
Cartman was on the move--

To be honest, I kinda forgot to look for her cute orange butt--- all the other Silkies were right next to me. Maybe 15 minutes had passed before I noticed that she wasn't with the others. Uh-oh. Then , I frantically searched the yard. Where was Cartman?
In the flower bed. I called her name, and she popped her little head out. By the time I got my phone to take a pic she was trying to get back to her chicken friends.
I swear, I called her name AND SHE KNEW.

Oh, it's already the end of September!

It's time to clean out my summer garden. I always wait until the last minute, but rain is on the way so I know it's inevitable-- pull it out.
Seasons change, time to accept fall colors & get ready for winter frost! Yesterday was my day off & I got a chance to let the lil' bits roam & explore in the garden. Carla B. our 'first lady' doesn't mess around--no funny business! Peck n' scratch! These photos captured her telling the little girls "to stop sunbathing & get to work--clean out those tomatoes!"
