It's pouring down rain here, which is super depressing. It also makes the chickens look ridiculous & I always feel bad for them being outside in the storm.

Thanksgiving is a time to feast with family. I don't eat turkey, but I enjoy gorging on ridiculous salty/sweet foods like nobody's business. Oh, and I love spending time with my family n' stuff. |
All of these defunct pumpkins will more than likely be fed to local livestock, pigs, cows, goats & poultry will be sooooo stoked to get some tasty pumpkin treats. Worst case scenario? They make golden organic compost! |
A chicken thanksgiving!!! All breeds coming together to feast on punkin'
Yes, that is a trampoline
It's always scary to try something new- it's even scarier to go back to something old. Familiar. And not exactly what you had expected to have to look back on.
This is my first post for my new website. This is my first photo of my new place. I have patiently waited to have the perfect opportunity to raise my chickens in an awesome environment. Turns out, I am not perfect- so it's a bit of a challenge to expect that I would be raising perfect chickens in a perfect environment. In fact, it's kind of annoying for everyone around me to deal with! So, I'm going for just AWESOME. Seriously, the chickens don't care if they live in the taj mahal of chicken coops- they just want to be fed & loved.
I now have the Taj Mahal of chicken coops- and a fabulous chicken penthouse of sorts. Strangely enough, it is located only 10 minutes away from where I first started my poultry adventure with a tiny little coop from Craigslist. All of the wonderful people who have helped me with my chickens the past few years are still in my life, still 'talking chicken' with me, and I can't wait for our future adventures.
Revisiting past experiences can be very exhilarating. It can also be downright depressing. Im choosing to be exhilarated-- and a happy chick-a-dee. :) Winter is here, and our garden is bare- but not for long. More chicken madness to come!
The photo above is my backyard & not retouched in any way-- it's all natural pretty
