Thanksgiving is a time to feast with family. I don't eat turkey, but I enjoy gorging on ridiculous salty/sweet foods like nobody's business. Oh, and I love spending time with my family n' stuff.
We decided to take the scenic route to drive home this weekend, and going up HWY1 along the coast, you can't help but be thankful for such a beautiful coastline. Coming from Santa Cruz; observing the contrast between green, fertile ag fields & cool blue ocean is something I often take for granted. I don't go home very often anymore, but in the past have spent many hours driving back & forth from SC to SF- taking HWY1 (if I have time) to enjoy the view. It's an awesome sight.
As we drove home, I noticed a gazillion abandoned pumpkin patches, tons o' punkins sitting in the field- never to attain their halloween destiny. Ha!
All of these defunct pumpkins will more than likely be fed to local livestock, pigs, cows, goats & poultry will be sooooo stoked to get some tasty pumpkin treats. Worst case scenario? They make golden organic compost! |
