I did not mean to hurt you. It was an accident. I didn't want you to die. I didn't want you to suffer, or be scared. I am so sorry.
Thank you for looking at me peacefully, even though it was my fault your neck was broken. Thank you for allowing me to hold you close in my arms while I took your life. Please know I wanted to give you mercy, not pain.

You were loud, and proud, and so beautiful. I enjoyed watching you grow, and loved your stunning colors. I don't think I have ever had a bird full of so many gorgeous hues. You had a sweet, slow personality & a gentle nature. Such a treasure, and I didn't appreciate your beauty until I had to bury you. I did not keep any of your feathers, because I couldn't lay another hand on you. You will forever be in our garden, and thank you for teaching me a valuable lesson.

I hope you forgive me.

YOU gave Georges a fabulous life and when it was time, a peaceful and loving passing. Accidents happen; don't blame yourself for an accident. Georges knew you loved him and there aren't many chickens that have lives as good as that!
