Shakin' the broodies

I decided to take a solo vacation & see the family. My littlest chicks are being taken care of by my wonderful friend "Mother Hen" in Sonoma. They will be spoiled rotten.
The darling boyfriend agreed to do some feeding of the big chickens while I'm away, but I also recruited my friend Stephanie to come help out. She's a big chicken fan :)
I told her that it would be an easy job, just spend time with them, feed, water, and collect the eggs. I'd be back in a few days.
Then I mentioned she might need to shake the broodies in the corner. She was confused, so I went right out to the coop & shot this video.

The chicks are beyond darling. They eat three pound feeder of food each day for five one month old chicks. The Lavender Ameraucana went out with me for a neighbor visit today, 70 degrees out. She kisses and snuggles. Porcelain Silkie is so ethereal looking, like dryer lint with legs. Ah, total love.
